Controller Issue.
« on: December 01, 2007, 04:19:25 PM »
Ok, i decided to get a 360 controller so i can play Halo CE on my PC, because i just HATE using keyboard. So i plugged it in, tried it out and it's great. But one little thing. You know to strafe you usually tilt left stick all the way to the left. But on this(It usually doesn't do this on 360) if i tilt like just 1 degree from up, i strafe. My stick isn't even diagnol(sp?)yet. Is it just my controller, or does this always happen with these on PC's? If someone can help me, that would be great.

hahaha, Halo PC and CE wasn't made with the Xbox controller settings, but H2V does.

Wait. It works better now. I shouldn't have calibrated it. :P It works awesome now. The strafe problem is still there, but not as worse. I was just used to where i pushed it diagnolly(sp?) and it would go forward on the box. :P

hey, I love my key board cause I don't have to worry about any of that kind of stuff, and I like to move my hot keys around, and put a few thing on my mouse, like for Crysis, I have Night vis, and binocks on my mouse, and in Halo I have it so I scrol up to go from one weapon to another, and down for grenades. with those setings, I'm a deadly force in MP.

in my opinion mouse and keyboard are far superior to a controller, we always have the controls at our disposal. for example console players need to let go of the aim to jump. plus using a mouse for directional control is so much better. you can spin 180 in a split second unlike a console where it takes like 2.

yea, that's way I'm a deadly force in Halo CE MP, cause I can kill some one much faster then some one with a controller.

cough cheap cough.jk Controlers are what the game is meant for, so we technicly get the true experience of a game with them. To me it's not realistic to be able to turn your body instantly. :p

I can. Being able to react faster gives an actual challenge when going up against other players.

well in real life, if some one is shooting at you from behind, you would try and turn as fast as you can.

Well, either that or you would sprint. :P

yea but in real life you wouldn't call it "Sprinting" you'd call it "Hauling Ass" or "running for you life"

What I meant was it isn't realistic to be able to do that. I know you can, what I'm saying is it's cheap and degraiding from the true experience of using the controls as they were meant to be used. The first reason is why so many games don't combine PC play with console play online. Though I really wouldn't care or be angry at anyone who thinks otherwise if that is what it seems like. :)

EDIT: woah 2 posts popped up while I was making mine. Sweet!
