Well I couldn't care less about Halo 4 right now, it's so far away and we know so little about it... at this point in time we can do little more than wait.
As for Halo Anniversary - now that's something to talk about.
On June 6, when I saw the trailer starting, I was so excited I didn't even blink. I still play Halo: Combat Evolved (PC) actively today, so the remake would mean a lot to me. I don't know how many times I've wanted the game to have better graphics, or a larger community. I had been following the rumor for some time, but the confirmation was still unexpected.
But as the trailer progressed, I couldn't help but notice things. I've been tricking/glitching/stunting in HPC for five years, mainly in multiplayer. It wasn't far in the trailer when I saw that the multiplayer was with Reach physics. I desperately searched the internet for some source which would tell me I'm wrong, and explain away the Reach multiplayer, but I found that it was indeed the case.
And I was crushed. The multiplayer was what made the game so replayable, something that I could continue to come back to for years. To hear that they weren't remaking it, that they were taking the easy route, that they were just making a Reach map pack, made me angry and confused. The fact that it would just be for xbox was fine with me, I'd be willing to buy an Xbox just to play the remake. But the fact that it would lack the original Halo: Combat Evolved multiplayer experience, that made me want to not get the game at all in protest!
It's just so wrong, and the excuses so thin. Not split up the community, PAH! The community is already split. If you wanted to make a community that wasn't split you would have made all the games expansions to each other!
Reach multiplayer! I mean come on! Players can get Reach multiplayer in Reach! I'm not trying to deny Reach players more maps/dlc, they can still have their stinkin' remade maps! But to deny the original Halo fans, the lan party fanatics, and the hardcore Halo PC players of the original Halo: Combat Evolved multiplayer experience... that's just wrong!
It's been 20 days, and I'm still fuming about it! I don't know if I'll ever get over it. It overshadowed the remake with a cloud of disappointment. Honestly, remaking the game was an obvious move - any company would do it. Remaking the multiplayer would be what would truly take the cake, what would set 343 apart in their first days in the spotlight as an amazing company sure to make all Halo fans as giddy as goats. But no... it's too hard, it's not worth it, we don't want to split the community... Such poor excuses for such a great disappointment.
